Group Emotional Intelligence Scale” (WEIP-S; Jordan y Lawrence, 2009).
The main objectif of this study has been to check if the different dimensions of the personality and the emotional intelligence influence in the use of strategies of deep action and superficial action of the emotional work. For that, we have been working with 230 employees from different private enterprise from city of Andalucía and Ciudad Real, including 137 men (53.5%) and 107 women (46.5%) between the ages of 20 and 72 years (M = 41.3 and SD = 11.27). The emotional work was evaluated with the “Emotional Labour Scale” (Brotheridge, 2003); the personality evaluated with “Goldberg’s 50 bipolar adjectives” (Golderg, 1992) and the emotional work measured 4 by “Work Group Emotional Intelligence Scale” version shot (WEIP-S; Jordan y Lawrence, 2009). The most important results indicate that people with high punctuation in the traits of personality Agreeableness and Extraversion realize an emotional work in which the strategies of deep actions are more; and people with high punctuation in Neuroticism use more the strategies of superficial action of the emotional work. Additionally, the emotional intelligence also influence in the prediction of strategies of emotional work. Concretely, the emotional intelligence is positively related to the deep action and negatively to the superficial action. Both results are argued and some suggestions are raised for future investigations.
