In this Final Degree Project, a qualitative investigation has been carried out on the important role that the family plays for people with disabilities. To do this, different aspects have been taken into account, such as family dependency, the overprotection imposed by their closest relatives, sometimes generated by fear of society's prejudices. All of this leads us to wonder why the family unit influences people with disabilities in a different way than people without disabilities. To carry out the research, interviews have been carried out with relatives of people with disabilities, captured in the form of Life Stories, from which the benefits of cognitive stimulation will be analyzed from two totally different cases
