Possibly this fact and the differences between school hours and working hours, is what the families need to occupy the leisure time of children with various types of activities outside school hours. The scientific literature indicates that there are differences in the use of these activities in terms of the type of population, whether rural or urban. The objectives of this study are know the supply and demand of extracurricular activities in an urban context (Jaén) and a rural context (Cabra del Santo Cristo) and make a comparison between both. It has been used qualitative methodology, through interviews with family members of children in pre-school education in both contexts. The found results demonstrate that the rural area is not just use of extracurricular activities, however, in the urban area are made use of extracurricular activities. We conclude that there are differences both in supply and demand for family members, between rural and urban.
