Dolor evocado lentamente repetido, sensibilización central al dolor y déficit cognitivo en el Síndrome de la Fibromialgia.

Abstract

El Síndrome de la Fibromialgia (SFM) es un trastorno de dolor crónico. El objetivo de este Trabajo de Fin de Grado (TFG) fue evaluar la relación entre el rendimiento cognitivo (atención y memoria verbal) y un marcador de sensibilización central al dolor (DELR: Dolor Evocado Lentamente Repetido) en el SFM. Este TFG se compone de dos estudios en los que se utilizaron la Prueba de Aprendizaje Verbal (memoria verbal) y la Prueba red atencional-interacción (redes atencionales). Las pacientes con el SFM mostraron un menor rendimiento en la memoria verbal y en la atención (mayores tiempos de reacción/número de errores) con respecto a las pacientes con Artritis Reumatoide (AR) y las participantes sanas. Existe una asociación entre las puntuaciones en memoria verbal y la sensibilización central al dolor en el SFM. En conclusión, la sensibilización central al dolor podría estar relacionada con el déficit en la memoria verbal en el SFM.

Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a chronic pain disorder. The objective of this Final Degree Project (FDP) was to evaluate the relationship between cognitive performance (attention and verbal memory) and a marker of central pain sensitization (SREP: Slowly Repeated Evoked Pain) in FMS. This FDP includes twos studies. The Verbal Learning Test and the Attentional-Network Test-Interaction were used to measure verbal memory and attentional networks, respectively. The results show that patients with FMS had a worst performance in verbal memory and attention (longer reaction times and number of errors) with respect to Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients and healthy participants. It seems to be an association between scores of verbal memory with central sensitization to pain in FMS. In conclusion, central pain sensitization might be at the base of the verbal memory deficits in FMS.
