MY CLASSROOM, MY UNIVERSE! HOW TO IMPROVE LEARNERS’ AUTONOMY THROUGH DEVELOPING PROJECT WORK

Abstract

[ES] Se espera que con este proyecto los lectores reconozcan algunos aspectos que son importantes en el desarrollo de la autonomía en estudiantes cuando éstos están desarrollando un proyecto. El desarrollo de esta investigación nos llevará a un pensamiento crítico sobre nuestro rol como maestros en el contexto del aprendizaje, y a pensar críticamente sobre nuestra práctica docente. La metodología será llevada a cabo teniendo en cuenta todos los aspectos que se involucran en el desarrollo de estrategias de aprendizaje cuando los estudiantes desarrollan tareas en parejas o en grupos. La idea, al finalizar este proyecto es tener la oportunidad de ayudar a los estudiantes en el desarrollo de su autonomía cuando aprenden, que ellos puedan ver los resultados con el desarrollo de un proyecto, y lo más importante, que ellos tengan buenas bases para continuar mejorando sus procesos de aprendizaje en inglés a través de sus experiencias en la secundaria.

[EN] It is expected that through this project readers recognize some aspects that are important in the development of the students autonomy when they are doing poject work. This research will encourage critical thinking about out role as teachers in the learning context, and to think critically about the teaching practice. The methodology will be carried out taking into account all aspects involved in the development of learning strategies when students perform tasks in pair or in group. The idea at the end of this project is to have the opportunity to help our students in the development of their autonomy when learning through project work, and what is more important, that they can have strong foundations to continue improving their learning process in English in high school.
