Schizophrenia is a serious neurodevelopmental disorder that has high costs for the whole society. It is considered by WHO to be one of the top ten causes of disabilities by disease and people who suffer it have a suicide rate ranging from 5% to 14%. In the present work, it exposes the case of a 49-year-old man who has been suffering from schizophrenia for approximately 25 years. After an evaluation, we can gather that the patient has delusions, formal thinking disorder, negative symptomatology such as anhedonia, insociability and apathy and low cognitive performance. His current treatment is only pharmacological, for this reason a proposal for psychological treatment has been made that acts in a complementary way to the ongoing one. The chosen treatment includes: Psychoeducation to the family and the patient, relaxation techniques, behavioral activation techniques, cognitive stimulation techniques, cognitive restructuring, communication skills techniques and progressive decrease of tobacco's intake.
