The Alzheimer's disease is a progressive dementia that has the memory deficits as one of its earliest and most pronounced symptoms. This is the most common type of dementia in people over 65 years so it is a serious social problem in the increasingly aging society. The aim of this review was to determine the benefits of treatment based on cognitive stimulation on people in mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease phase. For this we have reviewed studies about current and novel non-drug therapies that are developing today in the treatment of disease. We have used databases PsycInfo and PsycArticles through the platform of the University of Jaen and have chosen 8 items of 88 total results. The conclusions have been that Alzheimer's disease not only has a pharmacological treatment but it is very important not pharmacological treatment and cognitive stimulation through the help of animals, reminiscence, reality orientation or music therapy itself and also that these therapies they are gaining strength today and are in full swing of study to achieve 3 maximum effectiveness in the treatment and complement with drug treatments thereby achieving greater long-term effect.
