This bibliographic review aims to shed light on new advances in this phenomenon considered extraordinary, such as Near Death Experiences (NDE). In different studies, the narratives of individual who have lived this experience are collected, such as: out-of-body experiences (OBE), vision of light at the end of the tunnel, encounter with loved ones who have already died, etc. Among the etiology that has been most studied as a trigger for the event has been cardiac arrest, although it has also been studied about burns or the locked-in syndrome32. Also striking is the fact that children or blind people have also had these visions. In addition, comparative studies between cultures or nationalities have been reviewed, as well as being able to induce an NDE through substances, drugs or meditation.
