Promoción Artística en torno a Isabel I de Castilla

Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado muestra un estudio de la programación artística que se realizó por encargo de Isabel la Católica. Como gran humanista e intelectual, esta reina fue mecenas de grandes obras que simbolizan el inicio del cambio estilístico, durante los últimos años del siglo XV y principios del siglo XVI. No se puede obviar el polifacético carácter de Isabel, destacando, en este trabajo, su faceta como promotora de las artes. Se reflexionará, gracias a una selección de obras identificativas, sobre su capacidad intelectual como persona cercana y entendedora de las artes. Para ello afrontaremos las principales tesis que se han desarrollado a lo largo de la historia del arte sobre su gusto artístico, su relación con artistas, y, sobre todo, su modus operandi a la hora de utilizar las artes para crear su nueva imagen y, en consecuencia, la de su nuevo reinos.

This Final Degree Project presents an artistic program, which was ordered by Queen Elizabeth the Catholic. As she was a great humanist and intellectual woman, this queen was sponsor of important works of art that symbolize the beginning of a stylistic change, from the end of 15th century until the end of the 16th century. It can not be forgotten her multifaceted personality, which will be highlighted through this project as a developer of arts. It will be reflected thanks to a selection of illustrative examples, her intellectual capacity as a close and clever person in the art world. Consequently, it will be faced the main thesis that will be developed throughout the history of art dealing with her artistic taste, her relation with some artists, and specially with her modus operandi, when using the arts to create her new image and, as a consequence, new kingdoms.
