Impacto de la pandemia por Covid-19 en cuidadores/as informales de personas mayores dependientes. Una revisión bibliográfica

Abstract

La pandemia generada por el virus Covid-19 en el año 2020 ha provocado un enorme cambio a nivel social, sanitario y económico, el cual ha afectado a toda la población mundial. Sin embargo, podemos destacar que unos de los colectivos más afectados ha sido el de personas mayores, quienes han tenido mayores dificultades a la hora de ser atendidas en sus necesidades cotidianas. Es por ello, que las personas cuidadoras de este colectivo, y más específicamente las personas cuidadoras informales, se han visto forzadas a cambiar y reorganizar distintos aspectos de su vida para seguir atendiendo a estas personas. El objetivo de este trabajo es indagar en las consecuencias de la pandemia en personas cuidadoras informales, ya que con la llegada del Covid-19 se desplegó un conjunto de incógnitas sobre cómo seguir cuidando de personas mayores sin ponerlas en peligro y sin disminuir la calidad de sus cuidados

The pandemic generated by the Covid-19 virus in 2020 has caused an enormous change at a social, health and economic level, which has affected the entire world population. However, we can highlight that some of the most affected groups have been the elderly, who have had greater difficulties in receiving their daily needs. For this reason, the caregivers of this group, and more specifically the informal caregivers, have been forced to change and reorganize different aspects of their lives to continue caring for these people. The objective of this work is to investigate the consequences of the pandemic on informal caregivers, since with the Covid-19 a set of unknowns was displayed on how to continue caring for the elderly without endangering them and without diminishing quality of their care
