Resumen
El presente documento aborda una investigación sobre el estigma en las personas con
discapacidad intelectual. Para ello se ha conceptualizado tanto la discapacidad como el estigma
mediante el contraste de varias fuentes fiables. Al profundizar en el concepto de discapacidad,
se abordarán los distintos niveles de discapacidad intelectual que existen y los derechos de las
personas con discapacidad, explicando también los diferentes tipos de estigma existentes. Se
ha destacado la relevancia del trabajo social y su importancia en el momento de intervenir con
personas con discapacidad intelectual. Se utilizará el método de triangulación para realizar la investigación, tratando de recopilar datos a través de dos métodos diferentes; la historia de vida como método cualitativo y la encuesta como método cuantitativo. This article is an investigation of stigma among people with intellectual disabilities. To do so, both disability and stigma have been conceptualised by cross-checking several reliable sources. In exploring the concept of disability, the different levels of intellectual disability that exist and the rights of persons with disabilities will be discussed, and the different types of stigma that exist will be explained. The relevance of social work and its importance when intervening with people with intellectual disabilities has been highlighted. The triangulation method will be used to carry out the research, trying to collect data through two different methods; the life history as a qualitative method and the survey as a quantitative method. The aim is to make a detailed analysis about stigma taking into account two different perspectives; the person who suffers it and the one who causes it
