(ES) La educación emocional aspira a optimizar el desarrollo del individuo de manera íntegra, siendo este un
aprendizaje que se debe presentar en cada etapa de la vida, incluida en las personas mayores. El objetivo
principal de este trabajo es desarrollar las competencias emocionales en las personas mayores para poder
mejorar la calidad de vida de estas. La metodología es de corte cualitativo. Se trata de una intervención
socioeducativa, en la cual se han realizado una serie de actividades en el barrio de la Magdalena (Jaén).
Esta intervención ha sido evaluada mediante un sistema de categorías y subcategorías con una escala tipo
Likert 1-5. En cuanto a los resultados obtenidos, es posible afirmar que gran parte de los participantes han
presentado un agudo sentimiento de soledad. Además, se concluye que se ha producido una clara mejora
de las habilidades sociales en este grupo tras la intervención educativa emocional.
(EN) Emotional education aims to optimize the development of the whole individual, a learning process that should take place at every stage of life, including in older people. The main objective of this work is to develop emotional competences in the elderly in order to improve their quality of life. The methodology is qualitative. It is a socio-educational intervention, in which a series of activities have been carried out in the district of La Magdalena (Jaén). This intervention has been evaluated using a system of categories and subcategories with a Likert-type scale 1- 5. Regarding the results obtained, we can affirm that a large number of participants have presented an acute feeling of loneliness. Therefore, it is possible to conclude that there has been a clear improvement in social skills in this group after the emotional educational intervention.
