There is an ageing population worldwide, which brings with it a variety of diseases, including Alzheimer's disease. The aim of this study is to conduct a literature review to analyse the benefits of music therapy (alternative therapy) for Alzheimer's patients. For this purpose, a bibliographic search was carried out in various scientific databases (CINAHL, Cochrane, Cuiden, Medline, Pubmed), in addition to using other search engines such as Google Academic and collecting information through a reverse search. In the end, the review consists of 15 articles. Most of the studies agree that music therapy is an enriching and positive intervention for Alzheimer's patients and their carers, in addition to being of minimal cost. The results were divided according to the different types of music therapy. More information is needed on this topic, and new trials are needed to provide more information.
