Resumen
El presente trabajo analiza el papel de la Inteligencia Emocional en el ámbito de la enfermería. Para ello 191 sujetos contestaron las siguientes pruebas: Escala de Inteligencia Emocional de Wong y Law; Escala MBI de burnout, Escala de satisfacción en el trabajo; Escala de Personalidad Big Five. Los resultados de los análisis de correlaciones mostraron relaciones positivas entre las dimensiones de Inteligencia Emocional y la dimensión de burnout denominada realización personal. Análisis de regresión por pasos mostró que la realización personal fue predicha por dimensiones de inteligencia emocional una vez controladas las variables de personalidad. Así mismo la dimensión de Inteligencia emocional denominada regulación emocional fue predictora de la satisfacción laboral extrínseca. Los resultados son explicados y futuras líneas de investigación son presentadas.

Stepwise regression analysis showed that personal fulfillment was predicted by dimensions of emotional intelligence once personality variables were controlled.
