Throughout this dissertation, the concepts of acquisition and learning of second languages are studied by authors such as Krashen and Stern; as the different significant theories throughout history that refer to the process of acquiring a second languages. To conclude, it is exposed in detail the evolution from the classical contrastive analysis hypothesis to the innovative Eckman’s contrastive analysis hypothesis based on the typological concept of markedness differential.
