[EN]On the basis of the importance that from all areas, social and political mainly, give to the concept of flexicurity, and presented from many institutions as a paragdimactic solution for one of the main problems of the European society such as the raising rate of unemployment, as well as a starting point to renew the conception and configuration that from the second half of the twentieth century has been stablished in the labour relations, the target of these project is approximating to the contents of such an ambiguous term. For this, besides concreting the many different meanings that are given to this concept, it is revised the historical context where it is produced, the past background and the development as labour policy in the European Union framework with a reference to the two main models (Holland and Denmark) and its application in the Spanish framework, ending with a reference to the doctrinal opinions that have been given.
