In the study of violence we must take into account certain factors, such as personality, background...etc, without forgetting the influence of the media, this, can be adaptive and have the purpose to protect us from some danger, but in other cases, it works indiscriminately, which is a social problem and a threat. For this reason, it is necessary to take into account the mental health of the violent individual, because there is a great relation between the personality disorders and the violence. Specifically, in this work we will refer to the antisocial personality disorder, which is related to aggression, crime and violence. The following review will try to look for any possible deficiencies in the nervous system of the individual that give rise to violence, from the genetic, neuroanatomical and neurochemical point of view, in addition, a section will be dedicated to the environmental factors that may lead to the appearance of violence and finally, the possible alternatives of pharmacological treatment available for this type of subjects.
