Situación actual de las intervenciones asistidas con animales en España

Abstract

[ES]La aplicación de Terapias Asistidas con Animales (TAA), y en general Intervenciones asistidas con animales (IAA), en los últimos años se ha convertido en un tema de creciente interés debido a sus múltiples aplicaciones en diversos entornos así como por los beneficios que se han demostrado en diferentes sectores de la población. Este estudio describe brevemente la Intervención Asistida con Animales (IAA), su desarrollo histórico, las diferencias entre los principales tipos de inversiones existentes -como son la Terapia Asistida con animales, Actividades Asistidas con Animales y la Educación Asistida con animales- y, finalmente, los diferentes ámbitos de actuación donde pueden desarrollarse estas actuaciones. Por otra parte, con este estudio se pretende conocer cuál es la situación actual de las Intervenciones Asistidas con Animales en España. Para tal fin se parte de la información obtenida mediante una encuesta a la que han podido acceder las principales entidades y profesionales que hacen este tipo de intervenciones de forma continuada y sistemática en España.

[EN]The Animal Assited Therapy/interventions in the last years has become a topic of growing interest due to its multiples applications in various environments, as well as the benefits that have been demonstrated in the different sectors of the population. This study describes briefly the Assisted Intervention on Animals, its historical development, the differences between the main types of existing investments, such as Animal Assited Therapy, Animal Assisted Activities and Assisted Education with Animals; and finally, the different fields in which can be developed. Moreover, this study aims to find out about the current situation of the Assisted Interventions with Animals in Spain, through the information obtained through a survey to which they have been able to access the majority of the entities and professionals who do this kind of interventions in an ongoing and systematic way in Spain.
