Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL): Using Mobile Phones as an Innovative and Motivational Tool for ESL/EFL Teaching and Learning

Abstract

[ES] Las nuevas tecnologías tienen un papel importante en la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera desde hace mucho tiempo, pero el uso de teléfonos móviles en clase no siempre ha recibido buenas críticas. Este proyecto investigará el uso de las nuevas tecnologías en la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera y en particular, el uso del teléfono móvil, para demostrar por qué y cómo su uso debería ser llevado a cabo. Esta investigación pretende destacar que los teléfonos móviles pueden servir como instrumento innovador y motivador que favorece al aprendizaje de la lengua inglesa.[EN] New technologies have been relied upon within EFL teaching for several decades but the use of mobile phones in class has often been frowned upon. This research project will first look at the use of new technologies in the EFL classroom before delving deeper into the use of mobile devices such as mobile phones in order to show why and how they should be used. The study intends to prove that mobile phones can be used as a motivational and innovative tool which is favourable to the language learner.
