The present work aims to carry out an exploratory study in a general population sample that shows the relationship between the psychological flexibility/inflexibility regarding body image through the Body Image-Acceptance and Action Questionnaire (BI-AAQ), body dissatisfaction and the symptoms of eating disorders. Other measures such as general psychological flexibility, internalization of the ideal of beauty, BMI and age were also used. The results show a high association between psychological inflexibility regarding body image and the rest of the variables, with the exception of BMI and age. Thus, the psychological inflexibility regarding body image appears to be a good predictor of body dissatisfaction and symptoms of eating disorders.
