Resumen
[ES] El uso de imágenes como representación gráfica de la realidad ha sido fundamental en la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras a través de los tiempos. Este trabajo está focalizado en torno a las fotografías para la práctica de la destreza oral en la asignatura de español lengua extranjera del currículo inglés de educación secundaria obligatoria (ESO) del organismo Edexcel (uno de los cuatro organismos de diseño de programas educativos en Inglaterra) . Se ha ofrecido una vista general de los distintos enfoques metodológicos a través de la historia atendiendo a las imágenes y se ha analizado la situación actual de los currículos de español en Inglaterra en el nivel ESO. La parte empírica se centra en la búsqueda de imágenes, y en ofrecer un marco teórico-práctico para el apartado oral de acuerdo con los requisitos del examen del mencionado organismo.
[EN] The use of images as graphic representations of reality in the different methods of foreign language teaching throughout the times has been significant. This dissertation is centred around the use of pictures in the practice of the oral component in the Edexcel (one of the four organizations in charge of curriculum design in England) IGCSE Spanish as a Foreign Language curriculum in England and worldwide. A general view of the different methods of teaching languages with special attention to the treatment of pictures has been offered. We have also analysed the current situation in England at secondary level in the compulsory ages from 11 to 16. The practical part has been focused in the search of pictures and in providing a theorical and practical framework for practising part A of the speaking component as per the requirements of the Edexcel examination.
