Resumen
Cuba sufrió un proceso de independencia, años más tarde de que se produjeran la independencia de Iberoamérica. La situación que Cuba vivía con la administración de la metrópoli sería de una gran presión sobre la colonia, tanto política, social y económica. Una vez que se declara la independencia, comienza una lucha que llegaría hasta el 1898. La situación que vivía nuestro país en la época de la independencia antillana era de un país en una coyuntura bastante convulsa tanto social, política y económicamente. Finalmente, en las contiendas que se mantuvo contra los insurrectos cubanos, se perdió la administración de Cuba. Además Estados Unidos, en su ansia por conseguir la administración de la isla, se entrometió en la contienda y definitivamente volcó la balanza hacia la independencia.
