This dissertation is centred on the study of an alternative economic model called Economy for the Common Good, focused on the municipal scope, of which the vocation is the true transformation of the whole economic system, based on the construction of democracy and from this a local network scope. Due to this a contextualization of terms has been undertaken, explaining what a municipality of the common good is and what the five strategies are to achieve it (such as the participation of citizens, creation of democratic assemblies, the amplification of the balance of the common good, formation of an index of the greater good and the promotion of the new model) and the study has been performed based on a real case. In the same way, it has been aimed to show evidence of a correlation between social work and the economy of the common good, the functions that could emerge from this scope via techniques like social mapping and social diagnostics, and other contributions to the process. To conclude, I have approached a local development: I have simplified the benefits and limitations of social work throughout the process and have ended with a conclusion that will be useful to professionals within the social work system, governments, and others in positions of responsibility that contribute to the system and process
