Linguistic representation in Of Mice and Men

Abstract

[ES] El objetivo del presente trabajo fin de máster es analizar la traducción al español de la novela “Of Mice and Men“, de John Steinbeck, así como las versiones doblada y subtitulada de la película del mismo nombre y dirigida por Gary Sinise (1992).

[EN] This MD thesis aims to analyse the way the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, as well as the film by Gary Sinise also called Of Mice and Men, were translated into Spanish. This analysis will be carried out with the objective of finding out how successfully the fictional atmosphere created by Steinbeck was described in Spanish. In order to reach reliable conclusions, I will analyse the Spanish translation of the novel by Jiménez (1999), the dubbed Spanish version of the film and its Spanish subtitles.
