This academic paper will consist on the study of two of the main genocides that took place in the second half of the 20th century, the genocide of Cambodia, carried on by Khmer Rouge and the one of Rwanda, leaded by Hutu. In both cases, the development of these processes is closely related with the internal problems that these two countries were facing in that moment. The cases of Cambodia and Rwanda reproduce the facts that seemed to be forgotten with the end of the Nazism period: the persecution of an ethnic, social or political group that represent a threat for the nation. The knowledge of these facts is absolutely crucial to understand how two little countries located in different continents and separated by, approximately, 8 500 kilometers were able to originate such similar processes, separated by twenty years in time with the same result: the extermination of an important part of its population.
