TEACHING OF READING AND SPELLING IN F.L. THROUGH PHONICS

Abstract

[ES] Este estudio trata sobre el uso del método phonics en educación infantil y primaria, con el propósito de mejorar el proceso de escritura y lectura. Este innovador método ha sido llevado a cabo en otro países, el cual ha dado muy buenos resultados. Primero, hemos analizado diferentes videos y apuntado en un diario como utilizan este método en otros países y en Espafia. Esta investigación cualitativa se dirige a 1 O alumnos de cinco afios de infantil, analizamos una autoevaluación y comprobamos como usan la metodología ( blending, segmenting etc) y a 2 maestros, los cuales nos explican las dificultades y logros que han tenido los alumno/as a lo largo de 6 semanas mediante un cuestionario.

[EN] This study deals with the use of phonics as a method in Infant and Primary Education, with the aim of improving of writing and reading process. This innovative method has been carried out in other countries which has given very good results. First, we have analyzed different videos and have wroten down notes in a diary to see how teachers in Spain and other countries use this method. This qualitative study is addressed to 1 O five years old students, we have analysed self-assessment and checked how they used the methodology (blending, segmenting etc.) and 2 teachers who explained the difficulties and achievements that have had students throughout 6 weeks by means of a questionnaire.
