Resumen
[ES] El objetivo de este trabajo es la elaboración de un índice de competitividad para el año 2010 de las 50 provincias españolas y las 2 Ciudades Autónomas. Se analizará la competitividad en torno a tres grandes grupos: Infraestructuras y accesibilidad territorial, recursos humanos y desarrollo económico sostenible. La construcción del indicador se hará utilizando dos procedimientos estadísticos multivariantes de reducción de la dimensión con la finalidad de comparar los resultados obtenidos y ver las posibles diferencias entre ambas herramientas. Estas técnicas son el Análisis Factorial y el Análisis de Componentes Principales. El resultado final serán dos índices (uno por cada técnica empleada) que nos proporcionarán una estructura clara de cómo de competitivas son las provincias españolas y las diferencias existentes entre cada una de ellas. Este indicador también nos sirve para generar una clasificación de las diferentes provincias en cuanto a competitividad.
[EN] The objective of this work is the realization of a competitiveness index for 2010 of the 50 Spanish provinces and 2 autonomous cities. Competitiveness will be analyzed around three main groups: Infrastructure and territorial accessibility, human resources and sustainable economic development. The construction of the index is created using two multivariate statistical procedures to reduce the size for compare the results and see the possible differences between the two tools. These techniques are the Factor Analysis and Principal Component Analysis. The end result will be two indexes (one for each technique used) which will provide us a clear structure of how competitive are the Spanish provinces and the differences between them. This indicator also serves to generate a classification of the different provinces in terms of competitiveness.
