RELATIVE SENTENCES IN TWO DIFFERENT LAGUAGES: ENGLISH AND SPANISH

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar y contrastar las estructuras gramaticales de las oraciones de relativo además de las estructuras básicas de las oraciones simples en idiomas como el inglés y el español. El objetivo que se persigue en este análisis contrastivo es mostrar diferencias y similitudes entre las estructuras de ambos lenguajes. Además, en uno de los capítulos, se ofrece el uso de los pronombres whom y cuyo ya que se han dejado de usar en ambos idiomas debido a razones estilísticas y del uso por parte del lenguaje hablado. La elección de estos temas reside en el hecho de que son dos idiomas que se utilizan por bastantes hablantes considerados unos de los más usados debido a la globalización.

The present work aims at analysing and contrasting two different languages English and Spanish belonging to two grammatical aspects in both languages. The pursued objective in this contrastive analysis is to provide similarities and differences between the relative of both languages. In addition, in one of the chapters within the work, it is given the use of the pronoun whom and cuyo as both of them have become useless in both languages due to stylistic and spoken features. The choice of these topics resides on the fact that both of them are two languages commonly used nowadays considered ones of the most spoken due to globalisation.
