El lenguaje tiene una gran importancia en todos los ámbitos de la vida. Por este motivo, en este trabajo se plantea analizar el empleo de algunos términos en el campo de la metrología, ya que en muchas ocasiones las palabras y expresiones pueden tener un significado ligeramente distinto en función del contexto donde se emplean. Por ejemplo, cuando se habla de equipos y mediciones es común utilizar el término “calibración” cuando lo que se está haciendo realmente es un ajuste del sistema de medida o una verificación del funcionamiento del aparato.
