In the last decades have arisen multitude of musical styles in which we participate and with which identify us new generations. But, where is Jazz? Style which is characterized by its improvisation and its free interpretation. Do we know what is? Do we know how it is interpreted? Is taught in elementary? After making a State of the art on this style of music in Spain and at the stage of primary education, in which it is noted its importance in history and musical development of the centuries 20th and 21st, have found that unfortunately the gender is muted in the textbooks in compulsory education. For these reasons, this paper intends to start schoolchildren in knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of this style of music and, ultimately, to bring them a little more to it. For this purpose, I have designed an original proposal based on the hearing, expression, research and connections with the near environment I've ever had the opportunity to carry out in an educational centre. After the implementation of the unit and its evaluation, confirms the good acceptance by the students and the achievement of the proposed objectives.
