Resumen
LA EVIDENCIA CON RESPECTO AL DESARROLLO DE LAS FUNCIONES EJECUTIVAS NO SIEMPRE
ES CLARA. SE CREE QUE CIERTAS FUNCIONES VAN MADURANDO ANTES QUE OTRAS Y QUE
CON LA EDAD, LA FUNCIONALIDAD DE ALGUNAS DE ELLAS SE VA VIENDO EMPOBRECIDA.
ENTENDER MEJOR EL DESARROLLO DURANTE LA NIÑEZ DE UNA DE ESTAS HABILIDADES,
ESPECÍFICAMENTE LA INHIBICIÓN DE REPRESENTACIONES DE MEMORIA, ES EL OBJETIVO
GENERAL DEL PRESENTE TRABAJO. EN CONCRETO, LA IDEA ES ESTUDIAR SI LA CAPACIDAD
PARA INHIBIR SELECTIVAMENTE REPRESENTACIONES EPISÓDICAS ESTÁ PRESENTE A EDADES
DONDE LOS NIÑOS PUEDEN SUPRIMIR INFORMACIÓN INTENCIONALMENTE, SI BIEN DE FORMA
NO SELECTIVA. AUNQUE HAY EVIDENCIAS DE QUE ESTA CAPACIDAD SE VE MERMADA CON EL
ENVEJECIMIENTO, LOS ESTUDIOS EN RELACIÓN CON EL DESARROLLO DURANTE LOS
PRIMEROS AÑOS DE VIDA SON ESCASOS. PARA ELLO, EN UN EXPERIMENTO SE COMPARAN DOS
GRUPOS DE NIÑOS DE 10 AÑOS HACIENDO USO DEL PARADIGMA DE OLVIDO DIRIGIDO
SELECTIVO. LOS RESULTADOS MUESTRAN QUE A LA EDAD DE 10 AÑOS LOS NIÑOS SÍ TIENEN
CAPACIDAD PARA OLVIDAR INFORMACIÓN DE MANERA INTENCIONAL, PERO NO DE HACERLO
DE FORMA SELECTIVA.
The evidence related to the development of the executive functions is not always clear. It is believed that, with age, some functions mature before others so, the functionality of some of them can be deteriorated. The main aim of this project is to better understand the development of one of these abilities during the childhood, specifically the inhibition of memory representations. In detail, the main idea is to study if the ability to inhibit, in a selective way, episodic memories is present at ages in which children can eliminate information intentionally, even though in a non-selective way. Although, there are evidences that this ability can be decreased associated with ageing, the studies related with the development during the first years of life are limited. Thus, in an experiment, two groups of children with ten years old are compared using the paradigm of selective directed forgetting. The results shows that at these ages, children have the ability of forgetting information intentionally, but they cannot do it in a selective way.
