Resumen
La participación de los/as niños/as en actividades extraescolares desde edad temprana, tanto en el
centros escolares como en ámbitos privados, favorece positivamente al desarrollo de competencias
intelectuales y sociales. Esta investigación busca conocer las implicaciones del estatus socioeconómico
familiar sobre la realización de las actividades extraescolares obteniendo datos mediante un
cuestionario respondido por las propias familias de un centro de Educación Infantil de Jaén.
Tras el análisis descriptivo de los datos extraídos, se afirma que no supone, para las familias, un
esfuerzo económico solventar la educación no formal de sus hijos/as a pesar de preferir cursarlas
gratuitamente. Como conclusión principal decir que no existe gran desigualdad educativa en el acceso
a actividades extraescolares por parte del alumnado de este centro.

The children’s participation in extracurricular activities from an early age, both in schools and in private ones, favors positively the development of intellectual and social skills. This research seeks to know the implications of family socioeconomic status on the performance of extracurricular activities obtaining datausing a questionnaire answered by the families of a child’s education center in Jaén. After the descriptive analysis of the extracted data, it is affirmed that it does not suppose, for the families, an economic effort to solve the non-formal education of their children in spite of preferring to attend them for free. As a conclusion, there is no great educational inequality in the access to extracurricular activities by the students of this center.
