Numerous investigations have been carried out on what happens in working memory during old age, in the following work it will be detailed how this memory works and how it deteriorates over time, first of all we must know that working memory it is "a cognitive mechanism responsible for the temporary storage of information and its processing" (Baddeley, 2003). Working memory suffers damage from 65-70 years of age, especially it suffers damage in attentional control, which is the ability of the person to choose what to pay attention to and what they want to ignore, ultimately with age we are losing concentration. In this bibliographic review we will also see the theories that explain this memory loss, the cognitive deterioration that is associated with aging and how we can train memory to maintain its capacities for longer.
