In this end-of-grade essay, I have carried out two semiotic analysis. The first one deals with the notion of 'angle' in a textbook for the sixth grade of primary school. The second is about the results of an exam taken by the students who were taught using that textbook. These analyses have been made by using the primary entities of mathematical activity (Godino, 2002). The results are shown in an orderly and consecutive way, according to the chosen topic. The cognitive suitability related to the notion of angle in primary school is also studied, as well as the ecological suitability of the textbook. A contrast between both of these analyses is offered later. Based on these, I have proposed improvement measures. Finally, I have shown the conclusions and the achievements reached in the end-of-grade essay
