Adaptations tend to be distinguished according to their faithfulness to the original text; however, it does not have to be like that. Films may achieve the novel’s objective without containing every detail of the text, taking into account that the adaptation will be directed to a different public than that of the novel. Thereon, the elements compared throughout this paper are the most relevant components that define a story, with the aim of reaching a final conclusion regarding whether the effects provoked by the novel are reflected in those of the film.
