Trastornos mentales en el cine, ¿realidad o ficción?

Abstract

En el siguiente trabajo se va a hacer un recorrido por diferentes estereotipos que rodean tanto a la esquizofrenia y a la depresión en particular, como a los trastornos mentales en general, comparándolos con la representación de dichos trastornos en una filmografía seleccionada específicamente para este trabajo. Así, se analizará si dichas representaciones incurren a los estereotipos descritos o si los consiguen solventar y de qué manera. En definitiva, se analiza como de realistas son estas representaciones y en qué aspectos podrían mejorar para conseguir acercarse más a la realidad que viven las personas que sufren dichos trastornos.

In the following paper there is a journey through different stereotypes that surround both schizophrenia and depression in particular, and mental disorders in general, comparing them with the representation of those disorders in a filmography specifically selected for this work. Thus, it will be analyzed if those representations incur the stereotypes described or if they manage to solve them and in which way they do it. In short, it is analyzed how realistic these representations are and in which aspects could they improve to get closer to the reality that people who suffer from these disorders live.
