[EN] In order to characterize the community of ectoparasites of Athene cunicularia, 869 specimens were examined during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons in Bahía Blanca (Argenitna). Two species of lice (Colpacephalum pectinatum and Strigiphilus speotyti), a flea of the genus Polygenis and a mite (Laelapidae) were found. 12.2% of the owlets had some ectoparasite. The prevalence of lice was 8.51%; that of fleas 3.10%, adn that of mites 1.73%. The prevalence of fleas was higher in rural owlets. The prevalence of mites was higher in chickens and in samples of uban environment. The males had more fleas that the females and the females more mites than the males. Chickens carried more fleas and mites than adults; rural owlets presented more fleas than those of urban environment and those of urban environment had more mites than those of rural environment.
