Mindfulness is a therapy based on a complete consciusness of the actual time and in the opening and aceptance without prejudices, which is used as a treatment in psychological illnesses nowadays. The heart rate variability (HRV) is an index of the vagal activity on the heart that correlates with the emotional regulation of mindfulness, which makes the HRV as an important physiological measurement of the effects of the complete attention. In this work, a bibliographical checking about the effects that Mindfulness has on HRV is done. The searching has provided, as a result, ten paper for the cualitative synthesis in this essay. Eight of them show that the training in mindfulness in people who suffer anxiety, stress and/or worry produces an increase of the HRV, although this effect was not significant in two of them. In short, there is a positive relationship between mindfulness and HRV. This relationship provides a better emotional self-regulation providing well-being and health.
