The archaeological excavations carried out in the surroundings of the Ianus Augustus (Mengíbar, Jaén), specifically in the area of the Guadalquivir plain, about 180 m. of the same, have ruled out one of the hypotheses raised, through the geophysical work carried out in the place, about the possible existence of the remains of a Roman bridge, appearing in its place, different structures linked, some of them, to a thermal complex of Roman times, of which a small part has been excavated. In the present work, a recapitulation of the investigations and interventions implement in the area has been carried out, the bulk of which is the analysis of the ceramic repertoire documented in this Archaeological Intervention, called IAU Remains of Puente Romano- Via Augusta, in order to clarify the chronological sequence of the site, as well as its relationship with the environment.
