In recent years, the misuse of electronic devices, as well as an underlying misuse of social networks, has become more and more frequent. This maladaptive use can have major consequences and lead to a behavioral addiction. This problem can be observed in a large number of adolescents and youth, so the program focuses on this population. Studies indicate that the abuse of social networks presents comorbidity with disorders such as ADHD or depression, and that the subjects have low levels of self-esteem and self-control. The objective of this program is to increase these levels in 4th year ESO students of IES Jabalcuz of Jaén to try to remedy the maladaptive use of social networks or to prevent their misuse and the problems that arise. The main objective of this program is to reduce the number of times that subjects perform the compulsive behavior of connecting to social networks, reinforcing their self-control and self-esteem. To achieve this, a series of workshops based on mindfulness and pedagogical programs are proposed to develop self-esteem. In monitoring of the process, external factors that may influence the results of the program will be taken into account and an attempt will be made to adapt it to achieve the expected results without the influence of external variables. The expected results are increased self-esteem and self-control and consequently a reduction in the number of times social media is used.
