Resumen
Objetivo. El Síndrome de la Fibromialgia (SFM) es una enfermedad crónica con consecuencias negativas a nivel físico, psicológico y social. El suicidio se refiere al acto de matarse así mismo voluntariamente debido a factores psicológicos, ambientales o sociales. El objetivo de esta revisión sistemática es analizar la relación entre el SFM y el suicidio. Método. Se realizó una búsqueda en las bases de datos de PubMed, WOS y Scopus con las palabras claves “fibromyalgia”, “and”, “suicide”. Resultados. Finalmente se obtuvieron 10 estudios que medían la relación del SFM y el suicidio, su prevalencia, los factores de riesgo asociados, otras enfermedades comórbidas influyentes, y planteaban propuestas de test y modelos para esta finalidad. Conclusiones. Se encuentra una asociación positiva entre el SFM y el suicidio. No se ha corroborado que dicha relación sea causal, sino que está modulada por factores de riesgo psicológicos, físicos, sociales o situacionales de gran peso.

Suicide is referred to the act of voluntarily killing oneself due to psychological, environmental, or social factors. The objective of this systematic review is to analyse the relationship between FMS and suicide. Method. A search was carried out in the databases of PubMed, WOS and Scopus with the keywords “fibromyalgia”, “and”, “suicide”. Results. Finally, 10 studies were selected, among which the relationship between FMS and suicide, its prevalence, associated risk factors, and other influential comorbid diseases were measured; proposals for tests and models for this purpose were presented too. Conclusions. A positive association was found between SFM and suicide. It has not been confirmed that this relationship is causal but it is modulated by psychological, physical, social or situational risk factors of great relevance.
