TIPOS DE POBREZA: UN ESTUDIO EMPÍRICO EN COLOMBIA

Abstract

(ES)El objetivo de este trabajo es determinar si existen diferencias significativas entre distintos tipos de pobreza. Para ello, en primer lugar se presenta el marco teórico de la pobreza y se expone la literatura existente con relación a la pobreza en Colombia. Posteriormente, se lleva a cabo un estudio empírico con datos relacionados con la pobreza en Colombia y, mediante regresiones lineales, se observan las correlaciones que estas presentan con distintas variables. Por último se analizan los resultados del modelo destacando las diferencias existentes entre la pobreza monetaria, multidimensional y subjetiva.

(EN)The aim of this paper is to determine whether there are significant differences between different kinds of poverty. For this purpose, the theoretical framework of poverty is first presented and the existing literature on poverty in Colombia is described. Subsequently, an empirical study is carried out with data related to poverty in Colombia and, by applying linear regressions, the correlations that these present with different variables are observed. Finally, the results of the model are analyzed, highlighting the differences between monetary, multidimensional and subjective poverty.
