In this Final Degree Work is proposed the manufacture of innovative mortars, lighter than those usually used in construction. These mortars aim to improve insultating properties , which can make a fundamental contribution to energy saving . Mortars lightened with olive pits and bone ash shall be manufactured and characterized. The most appropriate proportions that do not decrease the mechanical properties of the mortar and which, on the other hand, increase its insulating capacity, will be studied. Their chemical behavior, physical and mechanical properties shall be observed by means of tests of reakive density , absorption of water by capillarity , resistance to bending and resistance to compression at curring times of 7 and 28 days , since one of them will vary the percentage of water used in mortars (from 50% on the weight of Portland cement to 60% ) . Thermal conductivity tests shall be performed on samples of 28 days with ratio of 0,6 water / cement .
