Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects communication, social interaction, and behavior, and is characterized by a wide range of symptoms and severity levels. Hippotherapy, a form of animal-assisted therapy involving interaction between children and horses, has emerged as a promising intervention to address the unique challenges faced by children with ASD. This Bachelor's Thesis (BT) focuses on exploring the effects of hippotherapy on children diagnosed with ASD. To this end, we have conducted an intervention project that focuses on the application and evaluation of hippotherapy as a therapeutic complement for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Additionally, a pilot study will be conducted involving a group of children with ASD who will participate in hippotherapy sessions for a specified period. Standardized assessment tools will be used to measure changes in behavior and skills of the children before and after the intervention. The project will be carried out in collaboration with a specialized hippotherapy center and an interdisciplinary team including Social Workers and ASD experts. A personalized intervention program will be designed for each participating child, with specific goals related to communication, social interaction, motor skills, and emotional well-being. It is anticipated that the results of this project will provide evidence of the effectiveness of hippotherapy as an intervention for children with ASD, as well as practical guidance for professionals and families seeking child-centered therapeutic alternatives. Furthermore, it is expected that this project will contribute to the development of best practices in intervention with children with ASD, promoting holistic approaches centered on the individuality of each child
