The case on which this literature review is based is that of deafblind people with developmental deficits and social problems, which we aim to improve by raising public awareness of this issue. With this, we aim to demystify and broaden the perception of people with deafblindness, promoting awareness of their communication systems and learning pathways. From Social Work, we could, through our daily work, contribute to building a better future for people with deafblindness, where one of our actions would be to get to know these people and their families more deeply and be able to help and advise them when managing resources and services appropriate to their functional diversity. Keywords: functional diversity, deafblindness, congenital deafblindness, communication systems, learning pathways, social work.
