(EN)The objective of the present study was to analyze the effect of daily hour of Physical Activity at Moderate to Vigorous intensity (MVPA) for 12 weeks on sedentary behavior in adolescents. 161 adolescents from 12 to 16 years of age (83 boys and 78 girls) with 13.76 ± 1.34 years of age and 21.57 ± 3.91 kg/m2 BMI participated. The experimental group (n = 74) carried out the MVPA intervention for 12 weeks and the control group (n = 87) maintained their daily habits without making changes. The results were differentiated by sex and highlight the decrease in screen time for recreational use and inactivity time among boys in the experimental group compared to the group that did not participate in the MVPA program and the reduction in screen time for recreational use in girls who participated in the MVPA program compared to those in the control group. In conclusion, it is essential to promote healthy lifestyle habits through physical activity to prevent and control overweight and obesity in adolescents. Therefore, the study will contribute to the preparation of future interventions aimed at reducing sedentary behavior, as well as responsible use of screens.
