[EN]Anxiety is one of the most common mental health problems in the general population. Within the broad category of anxiety disorders, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is the most common in adults and the one that generates the greatest demand for psychological care in primary care centers. Generalized anxiety is characterized by excessive anxiety and constant, intense, and uncontrollable worry about various topics and events in everyday life. The following is the case of an adult who meets the diagnostic criteria for generalized anxiety disorder according to DSM-5 (APA, 2013) and who in turn shows moderate depressive symptoms. The objective of this work is to present the results obtained after the application of a treatment based on cognitive-behavioral techniques (relaxation training, exposure to imagination and time management, planning of pleasant activities and training in social skills) that have been frequently used for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders.
