DISCAPACIDAD SOBREVENIDA EN LA EDAD ADULTA. UNA MIRADA DESDE EL TRABAJO SOCIAL

Abstract

Discapacidad es un concepto generalizado que comprende las deficiencias, las limitaciones de la actividad y las restricciones de la participación. Generalmente cuando hablamos de discapacidad nos lleva a un imaginario de limitaciones congénitas, ya sean físicas, psíquicas o funcionales. Sin embargo existe un alto porcentaje de personas que sufren discapacidad sobrevenida, a las cuales hay que dar respuesta específica a sus necesidades sobre todo en la primera etapa de asunción y adaptación de la misma.

Por ello, a través de este trabajo se pretende realizar un análisis exhaustivo sobre la discapacidad sobrevenida, los problemas y/o barreras a los que deben enfrentarse las personas que la padecen en todos los ámbitos, prestando especial atención al papel de los trabajadores y las trabajadoras sociales en la intervención de este colectivo.

Disability is a general term that includes the shortcomings, the limitations of the activity and the restrictions of the participation. Generally when we speak about disability it takes us to an imaginary one of congenital limitations, be already physical, psychic or functional. However it is real a tall percentage of persons who suffer supervened disability, which it is necessary to give specific answer to its needs especially in the first stage of assumption and adaptation of the same one.

For it, across this work one tries to realize an exhaustive analysis on the supervened disability, the problems and/or barriers that there must face the persons who endure it in all the ambiences, paying special attention to the role of the workpeople and the social workers in the intervention
