Importancia de la fotosíntesis para la vida en la Tierra

Abstract

[ES]En este trabajo se aborda la Fotosíntesis desde un punto de vista disciplinar y didáctico. Concretamente, los contenidos estudiados son una parte de la nutrición en las plantas pero queremos centrarnos en la importancia biológica de la fotosíntesis, proceso que determina la existencia de la vida en la Tierra, ya que los seres autótrofos no solo son los responsables del aporte de oxígeno a la atmósfera, sino además constituyen el primer nivel de las cadenas tróficas, son los únicos capaces de formar materia orgánica a partir de sustancias inorgánicas. Hay que mencionar la importancia de las masas vegetales que actúan como sumideros de CO2 atmosférico y por lo tanto, son eficaces controladores del efecto invernadero y el cambio climático. Por ello, el estudio de los procesos fotosintéticos en la enseñanza obligatoria es fundamental, pues favorece la alfabetización científica del alumnado. En primer lugar se describen los antecedentes históricos y el estado actual sobre la “nutrición en las plantas” haciendo énfasis en el proceso de fotosíntesis. Se analiza el tratamiento que estos contenidos han tenido en las distintas reformas educativas de nuestro país, así como los enfoques que los libros de texto vienen ofreciendo sobre los mismos. Por último, analizaremos la importancia de las ideas previas de los estudiantes sobre la ciencia, y la necesidad de establecer propuestas didácticas basadas en el modelo constructivista del aprendizaje, como el cambio conceptual, para superar dichas ideas. En este sentido, se propone una acción de aula para el 1º curso de Bachillerato, cuyo objeto es alcanzar un aprendizaje significativo para el alumnado en torno a la nutrición de las plantas entendiendo y comprendiendo el proceso de fotosíntesis.

[EN]This paper deals with the photosynthetic from a point of view discipline and teaching. Specifically, the contents studied are nutrition in plants but we want to focus focusing on the biological importance in the photosynthesis, process determining the existence of the live, being that the autotrophs organisms are not only responsible for O2 contribution to the atmosphere, they also constitute the first level of the food chain, they are the only beings capable of forming organic matter from inorganic substances. We must mention the importance of plant masses as sinks of atmospheric CO2 and therefore are effective driver greenhouse effect and climate change. Therefore, the study of the photosynthetic in the compulsory education is essential, since it fosters scientific literacy of students. Firstly, it describes the historical background and the current state about “nutrition in plants” placing emphasis on the process of photosynthesis. It analyzes the treatment that these contents have had throughout the different Spanish educational laws, as well as the approach that the textbooks are offering on them. Finally, it discusses the importance of student’s preconceptions about science, and the need to establish didactic proposals based on the constructivist model of learning, such as the conceptual change to overcome such ideas. In this respect, it proposes a classroom action for the stage of high school, whose object is to achieve a significant learning for the students about nutrition in plants understanding the process of photosynthesis.
