This Master’s Thesis presents a learning situation designed for the third year of ESO in the subject of Biology and Geology, named “Don’t fool your brain!”, whose main aim is to provide students with information about nervous system and drugs, bringing them information about how this system works, to raise awareness about the use of these substances, and try to prevent students from getting close to them. For its development, two active methodologies have been considered: cooperative learning, which promotes collaboration, respect, and coexistence; and project-based learning (PBL), which allows students to connect knowledge with reality, increasing motivation and critical thinking. In this learning situation, we describe a set of activities based on these methodologies that seek to make the teaching-learning process useful and meaningful.
